Busy February – LFW, Professional Beauty Awards…

william Blog, Uncategorised

So it’s been a little while since I’ve blogged as February was a hectic month and then I took a well overdue holiday to Australia for three weeks. I’m back feeling refreshed & invigorated so I thought fill update you on the last month…

London Fashion Week – I was fortunate to be involved in some of the London AW14 shows in February. I worked backstage at Fashion Scout, held at the Freemasons’ Hall. I joined Claire De Graft’s team, who is really lovely & an amazing artist. Claire was the lead MUA on the shows I worked on and all the were designed by the incredibly talented Lan Nguyen-Grealis. We had products provided by The Body Shop, which were great to work with.

It was great to be part of the team and the collections were beautiful. I love the buzz of working backstage –  it’s such a hive of activity, with makeup, hair and clothes all being prepped. Once you see the finished result, it is so rewarding knowing you we’re part of it.

Professional Beauty Awards 2014 – February 23rd was the night of the glamourous Professional Beauty Awards finals! I had been fortunate to be selected as a finalist for the Makeup Professional of the Year award, which was very exciting!

The awards were held at the prestigious Guild Hall in London, which is an amazing venue and incredible setting. I was really pleased that all the other finalists attending we’re on the same table as me, so we could all have catch up ! The girls are a real lovely bunch, as well as talented makeup artists, and it was really great to get to know them all. We were treated to a delicious meal and the host was BBC funnyman, Alexander Armstrong.

There was a great atmosphere in the venue and the awards were fab to watch. Unfortunately, it wasn’t my night but the lovely Jen Hunter was awarded the title in our category. She was a deserved winner and a very talented artist. I had a wonderful night at the awards and the whole process was a brilliant experience to be involved in.

The other finalists & me from our catagory Makeup Professional of the Year – (L-R) Suki Miles, Jen Hunter (Winner), Lynne Mills & me – Professional Beauty Awards 2014.

Now after a wonderful break in Australia, it’s back to business! I’ve got a busy diary and am looking forward to what the rest of 2014 has in-store!
