Last week, I worked with the super-talented Art Team from Clipso Salons. I’ve worked with some of the stylists before and they are a great group of talent! The Fellowship Clubstar evening was an event to showcase their techniques and skills to other hair stylists.
The event theme was “Pastel Playground” so there was lots of pastel shades placed in the hair. We decided that this should be continued through the make-up and clothes too. We wanted to keep the make-up fun and youthful too and took inspiration from the Meadham Kirchhoff SS12 show. With the clothes, stylist Tasha Faye, took inspiration from the Louis Vuitton SS12 campaign and had some beautiful pieces.
I wanted to keep to the same colour palette throughout all the models’ make-up but have a variety of different looks. I had 11 models to make-up altogether so it was lots of fun playing with different colours. I decided to also incorporate subtle glitters and pearl embellishments.
The colours I used were baby pinks, pale blue, mint green & yellow. I did use some brighter pinks (MAC’s Impassioned – a gorgeous candy-pink colour) and lilac on lips to compliment the other colours.
I decided to use circular shapes in the make-up to express the “child-like” theme. I created a dolly-look on some of the girls by applying bold circular cheeks. Alternatively, I gave other girls bright dewy pink cheeks, using MAC’s “Pink Shock” Creme Colour Base- which creates a fantastic shocking pink shade that I adore! I also created green and blue brows on some of the models. Other models showcased bold blue & green lips.
The show was so much fun to do and I was really pleased with the final results. I think the hair, clothes and make-up all worked really well together. Big thanks to the Clipso team for having me on-board once again 🙂
