Last week, the Men’s Collections came to London and I had a great experience of working backstage at the Sankuanz show. I was on the fabulous Maria Comparetto’s team and she had created a beautiful look for the show.
Maria designed the look so that the boys appeared “beautiful bruised”. All of them had bruises in different positions – eye, head, cheek or lip. She chose to create the bruises in bright colours that aren’t necessarily seen in real brusing to create a more animated look and compliment the colours in the collection. She told us she wanted them to look tough and masculine but also beautiful and interesting.
We had to create the look by evening the boys skin tone and then applying the brusing to their allocated area. Maria had chosen each bruising position for the boys ahead of the show, so we had to ensure that we checked which position our models were having the brusing placed before we started. Maria encouraged us all to have fun with it and play with the colours. It was a really cool look to create and all the boys loved it!
I loved the finished look and I think it looked really affective on the runway. It was great to work with Maria and her lovely team again too!
