This week, I worked at the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Regional finals with the amazing Kim Rance from Clipso Salons. I’ve worked with Kim several times now and she’s a super skilled individual so was great to work with her again!
The competition was held at the Park Plaza in Waterloo and it was a hive of activity with everyone putting in their best efforts for the show. I had to prepare our model before the competition and then Kim would have to prepare the hair in a special competing area.
We had a beautiful model, Lyn, who Kim created a beautiful blonde cut with copper tones running from the crown. We wanted to keep the make-up fairly natural to ensure the hair was the main emphasis. Our model had beautiful skin and structure so I added MAC’s Strobe Cream to her skin with NARS foundation – my fave! I highlighted her cheek bones
with MAC’s creame colour in “Pearl”. I added a cream blush, that I’ve been using a lot lately, Topshop’s “Neon Rose”. It’s a great product and a bargain price! Cream blush is best to opt for (rather than powder) when wanting to achieve a fresh-skin look. I kept natural tones on the eyes and lashing of mascara. I added a rose colour to the lips and topped it with a NARS gloss “Sweet Dreams”.
After the preparation time, the models were all examined by a panel of judges and then they had to walk the runway. Lyn did a great job walk and looked fantastic. Unfortuantely, Kim didn’t get through to the next stage, which was such a shame as she did such fab job! However, I had a great time being involved 🙂
